Sunday was an inspiratonal day for my family and me at Emmaus Church. Here are three highlights:
The Lester’s Story – Rich and Melissa Lester came to share some of their story. They talked about being grateful to God in the midst of very difficult missions in Ethiopia. If you missed it, be sure to hear their story.
The Stack of Cloth Diapers – One of the very practical needs that they shared was the need for cloth diapers for the community in which they serve. They were hoping to have 100 diapers donated to take back with them. By the end of the day on Sunday, they had 117.
Cider, Hot Chocolate, Pizza, and Fire – The Haskins family had their third annual cocoa and cider stand out in their court to raise money for the Emmaus Church Compassion Plan. My kids loved the event. This was partly due to the bonfire and the sugar but they were also excited about giving their money (actually mom and dad’s money) to care for the needs in and around our community.
Yes, Sunday was certainly a beautiful and inspirational day. I love our church.
