This week in Emmaus Kids the children will be hearing the story of Adam and Eve. Although the Common Table series is focused on Luke 24, the children will hear that story next week. Instead, this week, they will be focusing in on the same themes of brokenness and forgiveness through the story of Adam and Eve. Some main points:
They will discuss how God created the world good and then it was broken because of sin.
They will discuss different ways we sin.
They will discuss how we are separated from God and Jesus fixes that separation.
They will focus in on the verse: Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Questions for the ride to church:
Have you heard of Adam and Eve?
What did they do?
What is sin?
What is forgiveness?
Questions for the ride home from church:
Tell me about Adam and Eve.
What did you learn about sin? What is it?
In what ways do you sin?
Who sins? (everybody)
Why is our relationship with God broken?
How is this brokenness fixed?
Pray as a family for forgiveness.
