During Bonus Round on Sunday, the kids will make a book about the sermon series that we have just finished. Read the book together, and ask your child to tell you more about each of the 8 meals from the book of Luke. Read the passages from the Bible to put each story in context.
Thay will learn about two disciples who met the resurrected Jesus while taking a long walk from Jerusalem to a town called Emmaus. Take a long walk as a family this week and talk about what it might have been. Consider asking questions like these:
Was the Last supper really the last supper that Jesus had with his disciples?
How was the meal that Jesus had with two of his disciples in the village of Emmaus different from the other meals he’d had with them?
The 7-11 year old group talked about the mysterious Kingdom of God in Chapel today.
How does it make you feel to know that you are part of something extraordinary that began when Jesus rose from the dead?
What kinds of things might happen at church that could give us a taste of heaven right now?
How about when you are just hanging out with other people who love Jesus?
